2 Matatabi sticks
The dried twigs of the Matatabi tree, a relative of the Kiwi tree that grows in Asia, particularly in China and Japan, have a special effect on cats. The Matatabi contains Actinicine and Matatabi lactone, alkaloids with a light effect on nerve stimulation in the brains of Felidae.
You can give Matatabi as a toy. Cats play with the stick, some chew on it or bite it into pieces. Many cats roll and rub on places where the stick or its remains have been.
Dosage:
Give no more than two to three times per week, as otherwise habituation occurs and the sticks become less interesting. Remove the stick once the cat has finished playing.
Side effects: There are no harmful side effects. Some cats may react unusually to the sticks. Owners have reported their cat seemed euphoric with pleasure, and some cats may drool slightly. This is harmless.
Note: In combination with medicines, consult your vet first. If problems occur, stop giving and consult your vet.
