Simple pet gear, honestly sold
A harness that slips a shoulder halfway down the street. A bowl that skates across the kitchen tiles. A scratching post so light the cat tips it over once and never touches it again. Pet gear fails in specific, annoying ways, and most of those failures are obvious the moment you hold the thing.
Pawkit is a small Dutch shop for dog and cat gear that doesn't do that. We stock 43 products across three groups — dogs, cats, and the care and home things that go with them — and almost none of them need a battery, an app or a subscription. A leash is a leash. It should just be well made.
What we stock, and what we leave alone
We stay away from three categories on purpose. Anything that claims a health effect (supplements, calming devices, "therapeutic" beds), because we are not qualified to make those claims and neither are most of the people selling them. Anything electronic that phones home, like cameras and GPS collars, because the privacy and support burden is real and we can't carry it. And anything sized so specifically that most buyers would get it wrong, unless we can give you a proper measuring guide first.
What's left is the everyday stuff: harnesses and leads, bowls and mats, scratching posts and beds, grooming and travel bits. If you want to know how to pick between them, we've written 16 buying guides that go into measuring, materials and the mistakes people make.
How your order actually reaches you
We think you should know this before you buy, because plenty of shops our size are vague about it. Pawkit does not hold its own warehouse stock. When you order, we place that order with the supplier who manufactures and stores the product, and they ship it directly to you with tracking. That's why delivery takes 8 to 15 days rather than next morning, and it's why our prices are what they are. There's no warehouse and no middleman markup built into them.
What doesn't change is who you're dealing with. Your contract is with us, your order confirmation comes from us, and if something arrives damaged or simply isn't right, you deal with us, not with a factory. You have 14 days to return anything for any reason, and a 2-year warranty on top of that. The photographs on every product page are the supplier's own photographs of the actual item, not stock imagery.
The company behind the shop
Pawkit is a trading name of Botlease, a registered Dutch business. That's not a holding structure or a brand licence — it's the same small company, the same bank account and the same person answering your email. Our Chamber of Commerce number is 95943420 and our VAT number is NL005182627B44; both appear in the footer of every page and in your order confirmation email, so you can verify us in the public Dutch business register before you spend a cent.
Botlease also runs two unrelated shops, Deskt (desk and workspace gear) and Stowkit (home storage). We mention it because we'd rather tell you than have you find out and wonder what else we left out.
